One in four Americans believes in astrology. On TikTok, hashtag#astrology content has over 800 million views. What’s gotten people so obsessed?

Whether you subscribe to astrology or not, it gives you insights into how people think/behave and allows you to practice critical thinking skills.

Am I really a Libra? Do their characteristics resonate with me? (Read: Am I a master connector and a little obsessed with nice things?)

Does Ting communicate in a Gemini way? Full of ideas and can’t stop chatting away?

Like all my workshops, I like to make them engaging and interactive. During the session, I’ll share the astrological information like their moon sign (self-care/emotional processing) and then have participants see how well they know their teams.

With a smaller team, we can have everyone go around and guess. I have everyone’s information beforehand so I have a shortlist of signs and what they are like and I ask, “Who best resembles…”

For bigger teams, I group them by the element (water, fire, earth, air) and have them guess based on elemental characteristics. Each sign belongs to an element!

Most of the time, everyone guesses correctly!!! I love seeing everyone's reactions. Teams are able to strengthen connections and expand their understanding of each other.

What I have found is astrology is a tool that allows people to be deeply seen. It shows them to think about things in a different way. Astrology allows us to gain greater insights into the emotional reasoning behind someone’s behavior.

What does this mean?

Greater empathy and understanding of how to better engage and communicate. Lack of communication is the #1 challenge in the workplace.
